Product Description
Original early-Victorian Diamond engagement rings like this one are scarce. Diamonds were even rarer then than they are today, so much couples would have been married with a simple gold band- if they could afford one! Those who could afford a Diamond ring were the lucky few, but not many of those rings survived the generations of wear, being remounted or sold, etc. So we consider antique rings like this to be a survivor. This antique Diamond ring was likely made in northern Europe- think Holland or Denmark- in 10-12k rose gold. It is set with nearly 3/4ctw of old rose cut Diamonds which are all original to the ring. Rose cut Diamonds are flat on the back and have small cuts on the top, and are a more primitive cut than most are used to. These ones have some small chips and beauty marks commensurate with age, but nothing eye-visible or that will prevent one from wearing and enjoying this ring. If you have been looking for the original halo design, look no further. *Note- this ring has its patina intact; if you would prefer shinier gold without oxidation, we can polish the ring on request of the new owner.
Details: antique halo ring in 10-12k rose gold set with .35ct rose cut Diamond and .30ctw rose cut Diamond accents (all Diamonds SI-I1 JKL), northern Europe circa 1850.
