Mid Century Vintage Italianate Gold & Opal Pendant

In the mid 1960s there was a brief, but intense, love of all things Italy in American design. It suddenly became fashionable to import Italian sports cars, cook Italian food, and buy clothes inspired by modern and ancient Italy. Even items like this, which could easily be described as Victorian Revival, clearly have Mediterranean influence, from the textured gold work to the Opal “tassels” that hang beneath it. The beautiful pendant is hand fabricated in gold, textured, then set with a central 4ct white Opal which features every color of the rainbow dancing across its surface. The mid-century Opal pendant is a one-of-a-kind item that is unlike any we have ever seen- a true collectible. It measures an impressive 2 inches in total length.
