The goldsmith who created this pendant was a true artist. The blue-green Australian Boulder Opal is veined with a network of brown and black matrix rock for an organic look. To mimic this, the goldsmith created a pendant with a wood grain finish, sporadically set with diamonds, so that the final piece looks like the limb or stump of a tree holding the opal. Amazing!
