This stunning pendant is set with a rare Tsavorite green Garnet. Traces of chromium within the gem give it the green hue, but also inhibit crystal growth, meaning gems are typically under 1ct in size. In the early 2000’s a new source of these gems was found in Merelani, Tanzania where the Tsavorite also had traces of vanadium in the crystal structure, resulting in mint green color. This particular pendant is set with the largest of those gems we have sold- a 3ct oval with excellent cutting and stunning neon mint green color. We set this in a simple solitaire setting to allow the rare gem to take center stage.
