Elegant Engagement Ring set with Deep Color Aquamarine

This elegant engagement ring is set with an azure-blue Aquamarine in an unusual elongated cushion cut. The gem, from Nigeria, is of top quality, showing two shades of blue depending on the angle of viewing. In the trade this is known as a “double blue Aquamarine” since the baby blue and the cobalt blue combine to make a deeper shade than one normally sees in Aquamarine. We custom made this mounting to fit the gem but kept things simple. The white gold mounting features a milgrained edge, hearkening back to the 1920s, with a tapered top where it meets the center stone which draws the eye to the top.
