Oval Halo Engagement Ring with Blue – Purple Sapphire

Few Sapphire engagement rings are as visually interesting as this one. The ring was custom designed by us in faithful Edwardian style. The white gold setting features a Diamond halo surrounding the center Sapphire, and collet-set Diamonds on the shank. The center stone is really the star of the show here- a 2ct + oval natural Sapphire from Madagascar. This is a rare color changing Sapphire, which appears a cobalt blue in daylight and a rich violet in incandescent light. Under most lighting conditions, this Sapphire appears an even blend of blue and purple- it is simply stunning. At certain angles one can see the color bands within the gem which allow it to change color- a rare phenomenon much coveted by collectors. The combination of the rich purple Sapphire with the elegant white gold & Diamond setting produces an elegant presentation on the hand. Simply stunning.
