Victorian Boulder Opal & Rose Cut Diamond Pendant

This beautiful antique boulder Opal pendant is an unusual find with a mysterious look. The pendant is crafted in British 15k yellow gold, set centrally with an oval Opal with rose cut Diamonds on the compass points. The Opal is a Koroit Boulder Opal, known for a mix of Opal with the host rock, known as matrix. In this case, the matrix has a deep chocolate brown base color, with veins of crystal Opal running through it. The dark color contrasts with the Opal, making the colors pop- red, green, gold, and more. It was very difficult to capture on camera. This reminds us of a dragon’s egg, or lava shining through cracks in the Earth. If you enjoy unusual gemstones and rare Opals, this pendant may be the perfect piece for your collection.
