The customer who designed this ring wanted to give his mother her real birthstone- Alexandrite. Due to its rarity, most June birthstone jewelry is sold with synthetic Alexandrite, or the alternate birthstone which is pearl. While they are difficult to find in top quality, this color changing gemstone is very beautiful (though very difficult to photograph!) and is worth the hunt! To honor his mother’s other children and grandchildren we set the sides of this ring with small examples of their birthstones. This is a discreet way to create a mother’s ring, and one she will be sure to love.
