When Queen Victoria was proposed to with a snake betrothal ring, it popularized all things serpent jewelry, and snake rings became a staple Victorian and Edwardian item, for men and women. This ring was designed as a lady’s engagement ring and features two intertwined snakes. This design represents two lovers, intertwined, with the snakes wrapped eternally around each other demonstrating lasting love. One snake has a blue Sapphire set in the head, the other an old European cut Diamond. It is crafted in an elegant rosy yellow gold which is likely European in origin.
