Product Description
Looking for the perfect black necklace, or wanting something sleek and seductive? Then this Jazz-age jewel may be the perfect item for you. Crafted in the mid to late 1920s, this Art Deco necklace is the pinnacle of Deco design when geometry and form served as a statement of style. The platinum setting holds a custom cut octagonal bell-shaped tablet of natural black Onyx which is dark and mysterious. It is set on top and bottom with Diamond encrusted platinum links, each hand hinged, which gives the piece fluidity and movement. In the center of the Onyx is a round old European cut white Diamond, bezel set, which contrasts beautifully against the black background. The duality between sparkling white diamonds and shining black Onyx was a favorite among fashionable ladies in the 1920s. The top of the drop portion (known as a lavalier) is a hexagonal collet-set Diamond to which the white gold chain is attached; the 16 inch chain is certainly vintage but may not be the original, it can be lengthened or shortened by request.
Details: original Art Deco necklace in 900 iridium platinum set with .20ct round European cut center Diamond and .13ctw rose & single cut Diamond accents (all Diamonds VS FG) with natural Onyx tablet on 14kw chain, circa 1925.
