This distinguished looking late-Deco man’s ring is another FWCJ restoration project. When we first purchased this mounting it was missing a center gem and needed some repairs. We restored it to 1930s original and set our own navy blue Sapphire in the center. The gold mounting is engraved and detailed on almost every surface, which is a hallmark of vintage designs. The Sapphire is a vivid blue (with the tiniest hint of teal) that looks fantastic against the rose, yellow and white gold. The stone is dark enough to be masculine and neutral in the wardrobe, yet it comes alive in sunlight (see last image) and glints with flashes of cobalt from every angle. The Sapphire is Australian in origin- a now-depleted source far more known for green and bicolor Sapphires- so it would be perfect for a gent from down under. The setting is solidly built and can certainly stand another three generations of wear for another family.
