The historical source for natural Spinel was in the Pamir Mountains of central Asia, active prior to 1800, which produced some incredible gems- think the Black Princes Ruby in the Crown Jewels. Following the end of the USSR in the 1990’s mineral exploration of this region began again in earnest. This particular Spinel is from a source in Tajikistan which was discovered at this time. Unlike Pink Spinel from other localities, these gems are a pure baby pink without red, orange, or purple modifiers. We custom made this mounting to hold this spinel. From the top it looks like a classic 3-stone ring, the oval Spinel flanked with round Diamonds. However each side of the ring is further set with accent Diamonds and metalwork to make this a true work of jewelry art. This ring is a size 5.5 but can be sized up or down within 2 sizes.
