Belle Epoque Diamond Filigree Navette Ring

This stunning antique Diamond ring is one of the more unusual antique rings we have offered. There was a brief movement, just after the turn of the century as Art Nouveau jewelry was developing, known as the Belle Epoque (beautiful period). During this era, fine jewelry moved away from the heavy and gothic Victorian themes, and more toward ornate, yet feminine, jewelry. This ring is in the shape of a marquise, also known as a navette ring. The entire top of the ring was hand made using platinum wire in a filigree design. The platinum top is set onto a rosy yellow gold split shank, also hand made. The ring is set with five old European cut Diamonds which add sparkle to the design. Unlike jewelry from other eras, the Diamonds here are a smaller part of the design, intended to accentuate instead of take center stage. This ring is incredibly graceful and feminine on the hand- a true beauty. It is easily sizable to most ring sizes.
