Some Opals are indescribably beautiful. This one is case and point- every surface is alive with a kaleidoscope of color, and every hue is represented. This gem is an Australian Black Crystal Opal: this means that it has a dark background (which makes the color pop) but is translucent (so there is depth to the color). We set this in a custom made ring, which is two-tone yellow and white gold, with Diamonds flanking the Opal. Every surface of the ring is then hand carved and detailed, which is a laborious process we undertake to give it a Victorian look.
