Product Description
This is the quintessential men’s ring: white gold, blue star Sapphire, Diamond accents, well made yet discreet. This style of ring has been popular for over 100 years but saw a heyday from the 1930s to 1970s. This one dates to the late Art Deco period, circa 1930s, and we can tell from the Diamond cutting and the metal accent work on the gallery of the ring. The center stone is a natural Star Sapphire of a medium periwinkle blue hue which is a translucent color somewhere between medium-light blue and violet. Shimmering over the surface is the natural asterism effect which produces a 6 ray star (in this case one leg of the star is a tad weaker than the other two, but under bright conditions the star is still quite prominent). The star Sapphire is flush bezel set into the ring with two single cut Diamonds on either side and additional details from every angle. This is a quietly elegant man’s ring that would be perfect as a Sapphire wedding ring or on the right hand.
Details: 14k white gold ring with 5.73ct oval blue Star Sapphire (untreated, moderate asterism) and .06ct Diamond accents (SI GH), circa 1930s.
