Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Pendant in White Gold

Ceylon Sapphires are known to occur in a difficult to describe yet captivating shade, not too dark, somewhere between violet and blue, known in the trade as ‘cornflower blue.’ If you have ever heard that term and wondered what it described- this is it! This gem was mined in Sri Lanka and is one of our old-stock stones that we had recut to optimal light performance. It is a true medium blue that is sparkly and brilliant. While the color is definitely blue, there are certainly undertones of purple that make this an especially fine example. To play up these cool tones, we set this Sapphire in white gold then accented it with a few white Diamonds- just enough- so that this can be worn as an everyday item. Bargain priced to boot!
