This ring is a wow! The ring is set with the finest Padparadscha Sapphire we have ever sold. The term Padparadscha is a Sinhalese word meaning “lotus blossom” and Sapphires with this moniker are supposed to be a blend of pink and orange at the same time. Usually this occurs in the pastel range, but rarely gems blend these hues with intensity, and that’s what we see here. As the Sapphire moves, intense magenta pink and coral orange shine forth, making it one of the finest Padparadscha Sapphires we have seen, let alone sold. It was sourced from the collection of a retiring Sri Lankan lapidary, and found a home with a local collector. The ring, perfect for the Sapphire, is known as a ballerina mounting, since the halo of baguette and round Diamonds mimics the flowing tutu of a dancing ballerina. This ring is truly magnificent.
