The center gem is a dark navy blue Sapphire, but not so dark as to appear black. It was cut into an elongated cushion, then bezel set into this double halo ring mounting. Most antique halo rings we see are set with old mine cut Diamonds or pearls so to see this beauty set with small rose cut Diamonds is a true rarity. Rose cut Diamonds are flat on the back then domed on top, so they are ultra-sparklers which contrast nicely with the deep blue Sapphire.
