Product Description
This fantastic halo cluster ring was made at the turn of the last century. Diamonds, while pricey now, were far more expensive then. Thus it was not uncommon to see designs where jewelers used smaller Diamonds in a setting that made them appear larger, or to reuse Diamonds from past items. This ring features a cluster top where there is a central 1/4ct Diamond surrounded by smaller Diamonds that combine to look like one nearly 3ct stone. The Diamonds in this ring are old European cut and could be older than the ring itself. The top of this ring is crafted in platinum which gives it strength and a neutral white color, and it is affixed to a yellow gold shank which was popular at the time. We love that the top of this ring hangs over the side, allowing a wedding band to fit neatly against the shank. Despite being 100 years old, this ring certainly looks at home on the hand today and can be worn in a modern fashion.
Details: 14k yellow gold with platinum top ring set with .90ctw of Diamonds: .25ct center old European Cut Diamond (I1 I) and .65ct accents (SI-I1 IJK), American circa 1910.
