Estate 6ct Ceylon Blue Sapphire & Diamond Ring

This ‘something blue’ is the treasure of one very lucky lady. The estate ring, made circa 1980s and recently resold by us, is designed to present the natural Sapphire at its best. The mount is crafted in 18k gold in a cathedral style where the shank rises to meet the stones at the top of the ring, helping the Sapphire appear more integrated. Two sizable princess cut Diamonds are channel set on either side of the Sapphire, providing lots of sparkle. That said, the center Sapphire is the star of the show here- a 6.50ct cushion cut GEM. The Sapphire is accompanied by lab paperwork stating Sri Lanka as the origin, and heat as the only treatment. It has an impressive ‘cornflower blue’ hue which is neither too light nor too dark, and with just the smallest hint of violet. This ring makes an impressive statement on the hand, measuring just over 11mm wide at the widest point.
