Estate Emerald & Diamond Omega Back Earrings- Etruscan Yellow Gold

If you are looking for an impressive pair of Emerald earrings with great lobe coverage, look no further! These estate earrings were made in the latter half of the last century during a period of Etruscan revival, when designs from Northern Italy were influencing gold work, and gold prices were low enough to make these weighty baubles! The earrings are rectangles of solid 18k yellow gold, with rope framework, surrounding Italianate designs over a low relief. The high areas are polished, the low areas have a wonderful patina. Set in the center are two gemmy and crystalline green cabochon Emeralds with high domes that catch the light. On top and bottom are sizable round Diamond accents that add sparkle. These earrings create an interesting and sizable visual on the ear: shiny yellow gold, subtle textures, Diamond sparkle, green Emerald glow, and they measure an inch top to bottom. To secure them, the earrings are finished with sturdy posts and an omega back clip system that holds them tight against the lobes.
