Estate LeVian Alexandrite & Diamond Semi-bezel Ring

From esteemed jeweler LeVian comes this coveted one-off custom Alexandrite ring. Made circa 2000, the ring is set with a 1ct natural oval Alexandrite with a faint to moderate color change. It appears a teal green under daylight and a purple hue under incandescent, coupled with a great cut which makes it shine out from the mount. This beautiful gem has a nice blend of the two colors, and is most often a teal with hints of blue and purple. The ring was designed to protect this rare gem and the stone is set low into a semi-bezel which still allows the Alexandrite to get the light it needs to change color. The ring has a wide shank, measuring almost 7mm, and is set with 2 channels, each filled with round brilliant cut Diamonds. Tucked into each side of the gallery is a heart motif, set with a round Diamond for luck, This ring certainly has a modern and substantial feel on the hand, yet the rare Alexandrite takes center stage.
