Estate Platinum & Emerald Engagement Ring

Emeralds have always been rarer than other colored stones, as such we see very few estate pieces with fine Emeralds. This ring, made circa 1950, is a wonderful exception to the rule! The classic mid-century platinum ring mount features straight baguette Diamonds flush set into the shank. The platinum cathedral ring rises to meet a yellow gold head, where the Emerald is set front and center. The yellow gold prongs richen the green color of the Emerald and help make it pop. This is a fine quality Colombian Emerald, with a medium-dark green hue with a wonderful blue glow (classic for Colombian Emeralds). The emerald is an elongated emerald cut, which makes for an elegant presentation on the finger- truly a wonderful Emerald engagement ring from the era of Hollywood Glam.
