Gem connoisseurs can be a bit snobby about gems they see as more common, like quartz varieties Amethyst and Citrine. While we too get tired of seeing sub-par examples of these stones, true gem quality pieces are quite rare and beautiful. This particular gem is case and point: it is a saturated pure orange Citrine of nice size, made incredible by a custom cut with concave faceting. We set this with a custom made and hand engraved white gold bail, while the Citrine is set in yellow gold for a rich two-tone look.
