French Art Deco Jade & Diamond Monogram Pendant

This fabulous antique carved Jade & Diamond pendant is ready to become your statement piece. Crafted in France in the 1920s, this piece would have been at the pinnacle of fashion: carved Jade with a nod toward Orientalism, the geometric & structured Diamond lettering with a nod to Art Deco, and the large size & fun design to appeal to the flapper crowd. This piece is set in yellow gold with a floral and pearl-set framework surrounding the center jade & platinum panel. The jade itself is natural Jadeite Jade, in a wonderful celadon or mint-green hue, and it is carved masterfully. Riveted into the center is a platinum & diamond plaque with the initials “ELG” (spelled EGL, the practice at the time was to have the last name initial in the center). This is a sizable piece, measuring 2 inches long, and would have been worn low over a black dress. Fabulous!
