Product Description
Made circa 1920 as the Edwardian era was ending and Art Deco movement was beginning, this stunning Amethyst pendant was made to be a statement piece. The large pendant (almost 2 inches long!) is set with a royal purple Amethyst, sparkling Diamonds, and lustrous Pearls- it just oozes luxury. The central Amethyst is faceted into an octagonal lozenge shape which adds a touch of geometry to the piece. It is accented with angular Diamond panels on top and bottom, with rows of white Pearls on either side. The play between the angularity and sparkle of the Amethyst & Diamonds against the curves and shimmer of the Pearls makes for an interesting piece of jewelry art. The entire piece is made in platinum over gold, suspended on a choker-length platinum & Pearl station chain measuring just under 15 inches long. We can just imagine a glamorous jazz dancer wearing this over a flapper dress! This necklace could easily be lengthened, or the Amethyst pendant could be removed for wear on other chains- contact us for more information.
Details: antique necklace in platinum and 14k gold, set with approximately 10ct octagonal Amethyst, .80ctw old European cut Diamonds (SI GH), and seed Pearl accents; early Art Deco circa 1920.
