Product Description
Are you looking for the best in Imperial Topaz? You may have found it. This cocktail ring features one of the finest Imperial Topaz gems we have ever seen in the sherry orange shades and makes for one impressive bauble. We purchased this Topaz from the estate of a gem collector (who had purchased it from Amsterdam Sauer, a Brazilian gemstone importer in the 1980s) then had it recut by our favorite lapidary to bring brilliance back to the gem. Little did we know we would get one of the most impressive Topaz gems we have ever seen- it shimmers and flashes as it moves and contains hints of red and gold that are fab! We set this in an FWCJ original cocktail ring mounting, crafted in hand-carved rose gold. Framing the Topaz are rows of round and baguette Diamonds set into a neutral white gold background that helps the center stone pop. The result is one of breathtaking Topaz beauty.
So what makes a Topaz Imperial? The name refers back to the royal families of Russia, and later Portugal, having a love for these gems and using them prolifically. Nowadays, these gems are only found in Ouro Preto, Brazil and come in shades of gold, orange, peach and pink and are one of the rarest natural gems we sell- and the true (but often mimicked by Citrine) birthstone for November.
Details: 14k rose and white gold ring with 4.46ct oval Imperial Topaz (heat treatment only, appears like a 6-7ct stone due to cutting) and .61ctw VS-SI GH baguette and round Diamond accents.
