These gems were cut to ideal proportions on the blue axis of the crystal, resulting in superior sparkle and a good depth of color. It should be noted that these hail from the new Tanzanian find, where the Iolite has a stronger blue hue, whereas the older finds in India and Sri Lanka are more grey-purple.
