This piece was custom designed as the ultimate June birthstone ring. The ring features both of the June birthstones: Pearl and natural Alexandrite. In this case the round white Pearl is the center stone, set in a vintage style bezel, then flanked with natural Alexandrite. But not just any Alexandrite; these are Cat’s Eye Alexandrites which are a double phenomenon gemstone. They change color depending on the light source but also have chatoyancy: the white line hovering over their surface. Since all three of these gems have rounded surfaces they look great together, and the white Pearl accentuates the cat’s eye effect. The entire design was completed using CAD software such that the client could be involved with the design and see it before we made it.
