This adorable Deco engagement ring comes with a twist- instead of a the usual Diamond center stone, it is set with a beautiful purple Sapphire! Made circa 1930, the yellow gold ring is carved symmetrically then finished with a white gold setting. The prongs of the setting are known as “fish tail prongs,” due to the unusual triangular shape which holds the gem in place. This Sapphire is a medium-dark violet hue with subtle magenta undertones, which is the perfect purple shade to balance out the gold of the mounting.
