Mid Century Double Rope Bracelet with Green Jade

This lovely vintage bracelet is a twist on the classic gold rope bracelet which was so popular in the 1960s. The gold, which is woven into a solid rope chain, in this case is doubled over to give a wider bracelet. The two strands of gold rope are separated in the middle, and four green Jade cabochons are set into this negative space. These are natural Jadeite Jade, the rarer variety, in a pleasing medium grey-green hue with even mottling. Mottling refers to a pattern of darker and lighter color visible within the gem. It gives the Jade an interesting texture, which combined with the gold rope chain makes the piece very interesting on the wrist. The bracelet is secured with a box clasp and flip-over safety and measures 7 inches long. It is in excellent condition.
