Mid Century Engagement Ring with Large Old Euro Diamond

This fabulous ring is a sparkler! We love that this ring has wonderful width and presence, such that it could be worn as a wedding ring or a right-hand Diamond ring. It was hand-made in platinum sometime in the 1950s, but clearly set with older Diamonds. The center Diamond is an old European cut, which predates the setting by 50 years (we would like to think about the glamorous lady who remounted a Diamond in this modern-style, maybe on her 50th wedding anniversary?). That central old Euro Diamond is a gem- over 7mm wide and beautifully cut. It is accented with larger Diamonds on the compass points and with a split-shank that is also set with Diamonds- no shortage of Diamonds here. The shank is made with platinum wire that has been rounded to fit comfortably on the hand. While not marked, the design of this ring suggests French ancestry. It is easily sizable to most ring sizes.
