Product Description
This ring is another upcycled FWCJ original, this time using a fabulous natural Sri Lankan Alexandrite as the focal point. The mounting is a late 1930s mid Century ring with great lines and cute proportions that was just calling out for new life. After a full restoration we chose this color changing Alexandrite as the new gemstone. We liked that the two colors in the gem mirrored the two tones of the gold in the mounting, and that the smaller gemstone appears larger set in this ring. This 100% natural gem came to us by way of Anura, one of our revered Sri Lankan lapidaries known for his amazing cutting, so when the light hits it, it becomes a neon ball of color! It shows a strong color change from green in daylight/fluorescent to raspberry red in candle/ incandescent lighting. This bargain-priced ring would make an unusual engagement ring or a perfect dainty June birthstone ring.
Details: 14k two-tone gold ring with .62ct rounded oval natural Alexandrite (Ceylon Origin, 5mm diameter) and .06ct single cut Diamond accents (SI IJ), mount circa 1935.
