The space race of the 1960s influenced our country in many ways- the economy boomed, scientific discoveries flourished, and images of satellites and shuttle launches became icons of the American dream. It was so pervasive that we began to see these elements used in interior design and art- like this star pendant (or is it a Sputnik style satellite?).
