Mint Tourmaline & Diamond Pendant

Long before African Paraiba-type Tourmalines took the gem world by storm, rare teal, mint and sea-foam colored Tourmalines were discovered in Afghanistan. These gems may not contain copper, but they certainly glow with intense mint green color that is beautiful to behold- such as the gem set in this pendant. We tend to set these in white gold, since it allows the subtle blue undertones to shine through the mint-green base color of the gem. This one is accented with sprays of diamonds that are interwoven above the gem giving the piece grace and movement. The gem is especially sparkly, since it was cut into a custom “pillow cushion” by renowned lapidary Clay Zava. It measures a sizable 1.25 inches long.
