Modern Deco-Inspired Gold Pendant with Pear Blue Sapphire

This fabulous custom pendant is a wearable work of art. Hand made in rich yellow gold, this pendant is from the estate of a jeweler friend who kept this item when he retired, so it is in unworn condition. Three u-shaped cups of yellow gold combine to make a 3-dimensional gold frame- it reminds us of the best Art Deco architecture, but has a modern feel. Suspended in the center is a single pear shape Blue Sapphire, point down, held with tension. this blue Sapphire weighs over 1ct in size and features a dark, pure blue that comes alive in daylight. This is NOT one of those overly dark or black Sapphires- this is a natural Sapphire that is BLUE. The pendant has a wide bail so it can be worn on most chain styles, and the pendant measures 1.25 inches long for a substantial presence on the neck.
