Rubellite, from “ruby like,” is the name given to any red Tourmaline, which is among the rarest colors in this gem family. These particular gems were mined in Nigeria in the early 2000’s, which was a source that produced red Tourmalines with a slight pink undertone and amazing color intensity. These gems are especially rare due to their high clarity and unusual princess cut shape, which we thought was worthy of being set and enjoyed. We chose to mount these Rubellites in classic and simple settings which allow the intense pinkish red color to take center stage.
