Rutilated Quartz forms when needles of golden Rutile become trapped in the white Quartz crystal as it is forming. Sometimes these needles form a pattern, cat’s eye, or other unusual arrangement that make them appealing for use in jewelry. This particular specimen has been polished and trimmed, but left the host rock and crystal shape remain intact. The client wanted this set as simply as possible such that the cool gemstone could take center stage.
