Product Description
Spessartite is one of the rare orange Garnets. This amazing round gem is from a new source in Loliondo, Tanzania known for producing golden orange gems with lighter tone than other sources. The orange color in Spessartite is caused by traces of iron and manganese, and those with a golden undertone tend to be more on the manganese side. This particular gem has two types of inclusions- white ‘sugar crystals’ and black spots which are proof of its origin, and which are difficult to see to the naked eye. This Garnet was faceted into a Portuguese round shape which makes it brilliant even in low lighting, and hides any imperfections in the gem. We set this in a modern white gold halo pendant mount perfect to show off the unusual color.
Details: 14k white gold pendant set with 1.37ct round Spessartite Garnet (Loliondo, Tanzania, untreated) and .21ct Diamond accents (I1 GH).
