Transparent Green Omphacite Jade & Diamond Pendant

This beautiful freeform Jade pendant came to us by way of Japan, where we source some of our rarest estate jewelry finds. Japanese consumers are known for their gem collections, and we can often find rarities in the second hand shops there- like this. This particular piece of Jade is a subtype of the family Jadeite- the rarer, harder and pricier of the Jade options. The GIA is calling this particular type “Omphacite Jade” because of its unique crystal structure and darker green hue, somewhere between Jadeite and Maw-sit-sit in composition. This wonderful piece of Jade is highly translucent with gentle mottling and a rich forest green hue, accented with small Diamonds in a custom white gold frame. Darling – and good luck to boot!
