Vintage Australian Teal Blue Sapphire Two Stone Ring

This beautiful Sapphire two-stone ring has hidden depths. At first glance, the Sapphires appear to be a deep navy blue; but when in full light (see pics) the gems come alive, with flashes of blue and green merging to create a deep teal shade. These are natural Sapphires from Australia- a rare source knonw for its natural bicolor Sapphires. A single gold leaf design is set between the two sapphires seeming to embrace the gems on either end. This ring was made by a local lapidary who sourced and cut the gems himself, then designed the ring to fit the gems. We think this ring was made circa 1980 based on his personal chronology; but the use of 10k gold also points in that direction, as gold prices spiked during the Carter years and forced many jewelers to use 10k in their custom work. So, don’t be fooled by the 10k gold, this is a high-quality ring with beautiful Sapphires; with a nice low-profile setting that is as comfortable as it is beautiful.
