Vintage Octagonal Gold Dangle Earrings with Diamond Centers

These earrings were made from a single cufflink – the perfect way to recycle them into something even more wearable! We simply removed the cufflink chain linking the two octagons, and added the French-style ear wires to the top. The octagonal gold discs are a study in fine goldsmithing. They are crafted in solid 14k yellow gold, then rimmed with an overlay of carved platinum, and centered with a platinum and Diamond collet. The Diamonds are beautiful Old Mine Cut Diamonds with lots of character. The yellow gold area between the rim and the Diamond has been treated with an acid wash- this caused a satin like finish and a darker yellow color, similar to 18k items, which was popular in the teens. The result is a fantastic pair of earrings- perfect for the client with mid to long hair length, looking for a classy vintage pair of gold earrings, where the Diamonds add just a hint of sparkle.
