“Honor to the brave bombers of the sky” is the Italian expression engraved on the back of this rare & ravishing jewel. Crafted in rich, patinated 18k yellow gold circa 1918, this medal was given to a member of the Italian Air Corps for bring a “flying ace” during World War 1. The medal was made by Caproni, who was an Italian airplane manufacturer noted for making bombers used during the war. Originally worn as a medal of honor, it was passed down in a family and worn as a piece of jewelry by the lucky women in the family who inherited it.
